The Explosives Drivers Course (EDC) is normally conducted one time a month at the Workforce Learning Center (Bldg. 524). Class starts at 0800 and its recommended students arrive 30 minutes early to ensure they get a seat. The EDC is limited from 50 to 90 students (depending on classroom size) on a first come, first served basis. If the class does not have more than 15 Marines attending, the class will be canceled.
Billeting: Camp Lejeune’s temporary lodging facility, Lejeune Inn, is located four miles from the main gate on Holcomb Boulevard.

Chow: There are multiple chow halls available aboard the base as well as independent food establishments.
***Explosive Drivers are no longer required to complete Ammo-18 as a prerequisite; however, Ammo-18 and Ammo-51 are recommended to be completed prior to attending the Explosives Drivers Course.
*** NOTE: Explosive Drivers picking up ammunition and explosives at Fort Pickett must have one of the following three courses:
Ammo 37 (GENERAL TRANSPORTATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS)
Ammo 62 (TRANSPORTATION OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS)
Ammo 67 (HAZMAT FAMILIARIZATION & SAFETY IN TRANSP)
***Ammo-18 and Ammo-51 are available on the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) website below. You MUST HAVE AN AKO ACCOUNT to access DAC online training courses in the Army Learning Management System (ALMS). If you do not already have an AKO account, go to https://www.us.army.mil, select "New User", and follow the directions to register for an AKO account.
