PCS OVERSEAS - ACCOMPANIED TOUR

ENTITLEMENT- Varies with where you are assigned but most areas are not weight restricted. You are authorized to ship (2) shipments (HHG/UB) and store (1) shipment (NTS) not to exceed your max weight entitlement per the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).

WEIGHT RESTRICTED AREAS: 

Marine Corps Installations Japan Accompanied tour weight restrictions have been lifted.  See attached messages from USTRANSCOM and MARADMIN.

Unaccompanied tour restrictions still apply.

Authorized shipment from:

- The current duty station.

- A previous duty station, designated location in CONUS where dependents resided while member served a dependent restricted/all others tour, designated place or Home of Record (HOR).

- Non-Temporary Storage (NTS).

- Other locations subject to excess costs.

To: New Duty Station/Storage facility

- Unaccompanied Baggage (UB) to the new duty station subject to a weight limit based on the number of dependents (600 lbs for the service member and 200 lbs per dependant shown on Web Orders/endorsements).

- Shipment of household goods (HHG) to the new duty station.  Administrative weight restrictions apply to specified areas.                       

- Non-Temporary Storage (NTS) of all or the remainder of household goods with no further shipment until receipt of new PCS orders. (Note: - A designated location in CONUS if used for the dependents not traveling with the member.)

- Other locations subject to excess costs.

POV/Motorcycle Shipment:  Many restrictions are imposed on Privately-owned- Vehicles/motorcycles and at times shipment may be prohibited. Contact your DMO for information.   If shipment is prohibited members may opt to store one vehicle for the duration of their overseas tour.

WEIGHT LIMIT - The weight of all shipments combined cannot exceed the weight limits establish in the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR).

ADDITIONAL SHIPMENTS - Authorized subject to excess costs as compared to shipment in one lot.

TEMPORARY STORAGE - In connection with shipment, authorized up to 90 days. The transportation officer when unusual circumstances exist may grant additional extensions.

NTS - Authorized. See above.

 

PCS OVERSEAS UNACCOMPANIED/ALL OTHERS TOUR

 

ENTITLEMENT - Shipment of authorized items

From:

     - The current duty station.

     - A previous duty station, designated location in CONUS where dependents resided while member served a dependent restricted/all others tour, designated place or Home of Record.

     - Non-Temporary Storage (NTS).

     - Other locations subject to excess costs.

To:  The overseas duty station subject to the limits below.

All Marine Corps members

10 percent of the member's PCS weight allowance

 

- NTS of all or the remainder of the HHG with no further shipment until receipt of new PCS orders.

 

- A designated location in CONUS if used for the dependents not traveling with the member.

 

- Other locations subject to excess costs.

 

WEIGHT LIMIT - The combined weight of the above shipments cannot exceed the weight limits establish in the table of allowances.

 

ADDITIONAL SHIPMENTS - Authorized subject to excess costs as compared to shipment in one lot.

 

TEMPORARY STORAGE - In connection with shipment, authorized up to 90 days. The Distribution Officer when unusual circumstances exist may grant additional extensions.

Cpl. Lauren Nichols, the government move NCOIC with the Distribution Management Office, Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations East-Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, explains the step by step process for submitting an application for a household move out of the continental U.S. utilizing the Defense Personal Property System Website. To begin the process, customers can visit move.mil then click the “Sign in to DPS” link. For those who are stationed at MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, more information regarding household moves can be obtained by calling the DMO office at 910-450-8417 or emailing ppcig@usmc.mil located on Camp Lejeune building 1011.
