1. MISSION STATEMENT

Freight Shipment Control provides Freight Distribution Management functions necessary to support II Marine Expeditionary Force (IIMEF) and their supporting units. This entails the receipt and shipment of all cargo through Defense Transportation System (DTS)/ Small Package Carrier, as well as the receipt and shipment of all containerized cargo through Consolidated Control Points.

2. FREIGHT OPERATIONS GOALS

To provide responsive service and support to Marine Unit's and their supporting activities, on or deployed from, MCB Camp Lejeune. We strive to reduce shipment processing time for all the steps in our operations regarding Overage, Shortage and Damaged (OS&D) and misconsigned shipments.  Freight Operations' accomplishment of these goals will be made through education of our customers and personnel, coordination with the customer, the Defense Logistics Agency and other installations' shipping and trans-shipping activities.

3. FREIGHT SHIPPING SECTION

This section is responsible for processing freight shipments originating from Camp Lejeune to destinations worldwide.  Types of shipment include small packages (FEDEX/UPS ETC.) Less than truckload and full truckload shipments.

4. HEAVY LIFT SECTION

This section provides load planning, loading and offloading services for over dimensional items, cargo staging, and blocker bracing services.  This section is located at Lot 201 between Holcomb Blvd. and Piney Green Road, near the base landfill. It can be accessed from either of the two roads.

5. RECEIVING AND DISTRIBUTION SECTION

Receives all incoming freight and distributes to consignee. Inspects for loss or damage and processes the necessary claims.

The Mission of the MCB Camp Lejeune Distribution Management Office is to provide fast, friendly, and effective services for shipment, receipt, pickup, delivery, and storage of all personal property for military and civilian members of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and other DOD agencies moving into, within or out of the geographic area specified as MCB Camp Lejeune’s Area (Onslow, Jones, Duplin, New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender counties) of operations.
