Winter Weather Advisory, Jan. 28-29

MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River have set Winter Storm Condition Two (WSC II) effective immediately as winter precipitation is forecasted for the community within 24 hours. At 3 a.m. on Jan. 29, the installations will transition to Winter Storm Condition One (WSC I) as winter precipitation is forecasted to impact the community within six hours. 

The forecasted weather is expected to produce snow with accumulations of up to one inch possible in the local area. The storm is expected to impact the community beginning early Saturday morning. 

The installation will maintain normal operations today, Jan. 28, 2022, but is scheduled to delay non-essential operations until noon, Jan. 29, pending any changes in the current or projected weather. 

Gate Operations: All gates will maintain normal operations throughout the weekend, except: 

  • Tarawa Terrace I Gate: Closed Jan. 29, reopening Jan. 30, depending on road conditions 
  • Sneads Ferry Gate: Potential for closing if NCDOT closes the Sneads Ferry Bridge 

Road/Bridge Closures: When PMO closes or blocks off a roadway or bridge with cones or barriers, do not move or drive around the closure. Power Outages 

  • Personnel living in the barracks or BOQ should report any power outages or damage to their barracks manager. 
  • Personnel living on base should report any power outages or damage to their PPV housing office maintenance line.

Mess Halls: All mess halls on MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River are scheduled to remain open for normal hours throughout the weekend. 

Tax Center: The MCB Camp Lejeune tax center will be closed Saturday, Jan. 29 and will resume normal operations on Monday, Jan. 31. 

Commissaries: The MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River commissaries will remain open for normal hours of operation today. Both commissaries will delay opening until Saturday, Jan. 29 at noon. 

MCCS Services and Facilities: Exchanges and Marine Marts will open on a normal schedule, Saturday, Jan. 29, road conditions permitting. MCCS lodging activities remain open. All other MCCS activities will delay opening on Saturday, Jan. 29, until noon. Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune: The medical center will be open for normal hours of operation on Friday, Jan. 28.
