Trick-or-treating guidance and safety requirements

26 Oct 2020 | Communication Strategy & Operations Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

Please be reminded of the following Halloween Trick-or-Treating Guidance and Safety Requirements:

The Commanding General has approved trick-or-treating for residents of MCB Camp Lejeune with a few safety modifications.

Trick-or-treating hours on Camp Lejeune will be from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 only and residents who wish to participate should turn their porch lights on. Those who will not be participating should keep their porch lights off during the set trick-or-treating hours. Please hand out candy or grab bags from your drive way to reduce crowding around your front door. Using tongs for handing out candy to avoid multiple hands going into the candy bucket.

Residents should travel in small groups with members of their family only. Please maintain at least six feet of distancing from other families, witches, ghosts and goblins. A Halloween mask doesn’t count as a face covering, so be sure to continue to cover your face throughout the night.

Trick-or-treaters should use a washable container to collect candy that can be sanitized when you return home or consider a disposable container that can be discarded.

For those passing out candy, open the package of candy and dump it directly into the container you will distribute from to minimize handling prior to a child receiving it.

Take hand sanitizer with you and apply it several times throughout the night.

If you and your family will be traveling off base for trick-or-treating, please follow the applicable guidelines as precautionary measures.

Stay safe and have fun this Halloween!
