MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - Major Gen. Robert C. Dickerson, the commanding general of Marine Corps Installations East, presents Capt. Walter D. Romine Jr. with a Bronze Star Wednesday in Bldg. 1. While serving as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Platoon Commander for Combat Service Support Battalion-1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force from March to September 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, Romine was instrumental in disposing of more than 156,000 pounds of explosives, nearly 50,000 rounds of small arms ammunition and more than 100 missiles.
