PFC Nicholas Matteson, a tank crewman with 2nd Tank Battalion, shows a father and son what the inside of a M1A1 tank looks like during a family day aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Aug. 16. The event featured bouncy houses, refreshments as well as different military vehicles for the families to view. Capt. Heather Ichord, a logistics officer with 2nd Tank Battalion, said family days are important because it allows the Marines to slow down and appreciate their families and all that they do to support them.
