CAMP GEIGER, N.C. - Col. Jeffrey T. Conner, School of Infantry-East commanding officer, shakes hands with and gives an award to Lt. Col. Stacey L. Taylor, School of Infantry-East Headquarters and Support Battalion outgoing commanding officer, during a change of command ceremony at the Camp Geiger Fitness Center aboard Camp Geiger, a satellite installation of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, June 28. Taylor handed the reigns of the battalion to Lt. Col. Ricardo T. Player, School of Infantry-East Headquarters and Support Battalion oncoming commanding officer. Taylor and Player both attended Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, following the footsteps of Capt. Fredrick C. Branch, the first African American Marine Corps commissioned officer. "It is my duty to provide the leadership so that H&S Battalion Marines are taken care of in order to accomplish their mission," said Player. "I'm humble, excited and motivated. It's truly an honor to lead this great battalion."
