Welcome teachers, parents, students, and everyone interested in learning more about the local archaeology and history of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.

Use the drop-down menu on the right to explore the various education resources available.  Here you will find practical resources you can use at home, in the classroom, and as training exercisesTeachers and home school parents will find four new lesson plans developed in accordance with North Carolina teaching standards. These lessons including; “Montford Point Marines” which discusses the history of African American Marines, “Pottery Imprints and Refits” teaches students about prehistoric pottery, “Sturdy Structures” is a hands-on activity designed to teach students about Native American structures used in North Carolina, and “What Will Remain” was designed to make students start thinking about future archaeology and what we do today that creates imprints for a future archaeological record. Additional resources include a comprehensive archaeology glossary, a listing of cultural resource laws and regulations, and related links and documents.
