Preparing for a Move

13 Jun 2023 |

There are many things to be done when you know you are getting ready to conduct a move. Getting an early start on preparing for your move is the best way to ensure a successful move. When you receive orders or know that you will be moving soon, The best place to start is the Camp Lejeune DMO or the nearest transportation office.

They will be able to get you started on the right path and answer any questions you may have related to your move.  Make sure to ask about your entitlements, how and where to setup your move online and the timeline for submission as these change frequently depending on the time of year.

You may ship all personal property associated with the home and all personal effects belonging to you and your dependents on the effective date of your PCS orders.

When it is time for all of your household goods to be loaded, remember, you or your designated agent must be available between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. During loading/moving, the driver of the truck is usually in charge of the show.
