Inclement Weather Update for MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River

MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will release all non-essential personnel at noon today and will exercise a two-hour delay for all non-essential personnel tomorrow.

Service members and civilian employees should contact their chain of command for guidance on essential and non-essential reporting procedures. 

DoDEA middle and high schools on Camp Lejeune will release students at 12:30 p.m. DoDEA elementary schools on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will release students at 1 p.m. For more information on DoDEA school cancellations, please visit https://www.dodea.edu/americas/mid-atlantic/camp-lejeune-schools

All mess halls across Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will remain open for normal operations.

The Commissary will close at 1 p.m. today and reopen at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.

There are no anticipated impacts to gates at this time. 

All tenant units and activities should police call their outdoor areas and tie down or secure any loose items. Take in any objects that could be blown by the wind as projectiles or carried into and block storm drains. Ensure all windows and doors close properly and use caution if you must drive. 

Installation tenants are advised that if winds reach 50 mph, emergency responders will respond only to emergency calls. Once winds are greater than 55 mph, emergency responders will wait to respond to any calls until safe weather conditions are restored.
