CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River remain under Winter Storm Condition I, as snow and ice are still impacting our area. Any snow that melts today will refreeze into black ice tonight, prolonging hazardous travel conditions. All personnel should continue to delay non-essential travel. In addition to snow and ice, extremely cold weather with morning lows in the teens and wind chills in the single digits remain forecasted.
MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will remain open for essential operations only. All military and civilian personnel are advised of the following impacts:
- Non-essential personnel are released through Thursday, Jan. 23.
- Reduced services and closures of most facilities, including child development centers, fitness centers, franchisee’s/third party vendors, Marine Marts, the Marine Corps Exchange and the Commissary will extend through Thursday, Jan. 23.
- Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune is also operating at essential personnel only on Thursday, Jan. 23; outpatient services remain closed as well.
- The Visitor Centers at Wilson Gate on Camp Lejeune and Curtis Gate on MCAS New River remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23
- The Contractor Vetting Offices at Holcomb Gate and Piney Green Gate remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23
- Mess Halls will remain open and essential personnel are authorized to use the mess hall during this weather event.
- DoDEA Schools will be closed Jan. 22-23.
Power outages remain possible due to heavy snow and ice. In case of a power outage in your home or work area, please report the power outage to Public Works at 451-3001.

Gate and Bridge Operations
- The Triangle Outpost Gate on MCB Camp Lejeune will remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23.
- The Piney Green Gate on MCB Camp Lejeune will remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23
- The Douglass Gate on MCAS New River will remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 23.
- The Sneads Ferry Bridge is subject to short-notice closure by the NC Department of Transportation, due to hazardous conditions, which will affect Sneads Ferry Gate operations.
- The Onslow Beach Bridge will be subject to closure due to hazardous conditions as well.
