MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River have set Winter Storm Condition Two (WSC II), effective immediately, as winter precipitation is forecasted for the community within 24 hours.
The forecasted storm is expected to produce heavy freezing rain and sleet with accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to a quarter to a half inch possible. The storm is expected to impact the community beginning late Thursday night through early Saturday morning. Installation operations will be limited to essential activities only. All military and civilian personnel should contact their chain of command or work supervisors for reporting instructions.
Gate Operations: The below gates, visitor centers and contractor vetting offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 21, unless otherwise noted:
- Tarawa Terrace 1 Gate (Closed Jan. 21-22)
- Midway Park Outbound Gate
- Butler Gate (Midway Park)
- Piney Green Gate/CVI
- MCB Camp Lejeune Visitors Center (VC); Bldg. TT-13
- MCB Camp Lejeune Contractor Vetting Office (CVO); Bldg. 818

Power Outages
- Personnel living in the barracks or BOQ should report any power outages or damage to their barracks manager.
- Personnel living on base should report any power outages or damage to their PPV housing office maintenance line.

Mess Halls: All mess halls on MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River are scheduled to remain open for normal hours on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022.
Commissaries: The MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River commissaries will remain open today. Both commissaries will be closed on Friday, Jan. 21 and conditions permitting, plan to re-open on Saturday, Jan. 21 at noon. Please remain flexible if there are delays in re-openings.
MCCS Services and Facilities: For everyone's safety, the MCIEAST CG has ordered all MCCS services closed Friday, Jan. 21. These include, but are not limited to, Child Development Centers, Marine Marts, the Camp Lejeune MCX and fitness centers with the exception of the below locations:
- Wallace Creek Marine Mart (will close at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21)
- MCAS New River MCX (will close at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21)
- All lodging facilities

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune: The medical center will operate with essential personnel ONLY on Friday, January 21 and Saturday, January 22, 2022. NMCCL will operate emergency and inpatient services ONLY Friday and Saturday.
Patients with appointments or scheduled elective procedures will be contacted for rescheduling. While every attempt will be made to reach patients today for rescheduling, if you do not hear from us, you may call the Appointment Line (910-450-4357) on Saturday between 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The COVID-19 Testing Tent will also be CLOSED Friday & Saturday. The Testing Tent will move operations over to the Acute Respiratory Clinic on Sunday, January 23 from 8 a.m. – noon. If you have a test scheduled for tomorrow, you can get your COVID test taken today until 4 p.m. or come to the Acute Respiratory Clinic on Sunday instead.

DoDEA Schools: The Camp Lejeune Community Schools Superintendent has closed base schools on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 for students and staff.
Driving: All personnel are reminded to stay off the road during this storm unless it is an emergency. Drivers should slow down and allow for additional room between vehicles since slick winter road conditions often result in longer stopping distances. In general, personnel should slow down for wet, snowy or icy conditions; when visibility is poor; or when conditions are changing or unpredictable, especially on bridges, overpasses, off-ramps and other elevated surfaces.
