Hope

29 Jan 2021 | Lt. Matthew Dean Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”                                                                                                            (Hebrews 6:19 NIV)

In uncertain times of question and doubt, it is important for the Christian to focus on that which is certain. Christ Jesus! Scripture teaches the believer, that there is a “Hope,” which can never be usurped by the trials of life. There are many things going on in the world right now that are shaking the very foundation of our solidity. While the world faces COVID-19 and our nation faces an uncertain future, things are changing.

However, are things changing for Christians? This Scripture teaches believers that the advent of Christ ensures a secure placement in the kingdom of God. Although believers are here on this Earth facing these uncertain times; life for a believer is not gauged by the luxation of temporary circumstances. Rather our hope is “Firm” and “Secure.” Christ atonement and intercession has ensured a place in God’s heavenly realm. Although believers are here on this Earth, we are sojourners who can never be plucked out of the hands of our master, Jesus Christ. While we are here on this Earth may we remember that “This world is not our home (Heb.13:14).”
