Dr. Jim Fruthaler, former Navy lieutenant junior grade reminisces with service members about his time in the military as a pediatrician at the Hadnot Point Medical Clinic located on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, May 1. Dr. Fruthaler, who received orders to MCB Camp Lejeune in 1951, helped establish the first pediatric clinic on base at historic Building 15. “It is very meaningful for us to have him here today,” said Cmdr. The building was dedicated in 1943 for Lt. j.g. Aloysius Schmitt who gave his life saving others during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Broglio is the Archdiocese of the Military Services.
