MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The Provost Marshal's Office is pushing a new program called Operation Identification due to recent burglaries in the family housing areas here. Operation Identification is a nationally recognized property identification program open to all residents here and Marine Corps Air Station New River Community. MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The family of Gunnery Sgt. Terry W. Ball Jr., Maj. Gen. Robert C. Dickerson, the commanding general of Marine Corps Installations East, and 1st Sgt. Edgardo M. Guzman, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, cut the ribbon to officially open the Ball Center here Dec. 14. The recently renovated building was dedicated to Ball for his service to the Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ball received fatal wounds from an explosion while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Karmah, Iraq, while assigned to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
