What is Operations Security (OPSEC)?
OPSEC is a process that identifies critical information and protects it from our adversaries.

Why is Operations Security (OPSEC) important to you?
Protecting critical information is everyone’s responsibility and something we must do daily! Compromising our information jeopardizes our mission, jobs, lives and technological edge over our adversaries. Would you provide your social security number or bank account number to a stranger or over the phone? Someone with that information would have the necessary critical information to steal your identity. You should practice the same restraint when it comes to information about your military service or family members’ military service and their unit. Sometimes identifying an adversary can be difficult so it is extremely important to treat all critical information with care.
