Public Notice: Base sets Tropical Cyclone Condition V, resumes normal operations
As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, the MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ commanding general has set tropical cyclone condition five with the passing of Hurricane Isaias and has resumed normal operations.
At TCC V, the potential for the occurrence of destructive weather is elevated, but no specific tropical system threatens the area.
Military Personnel Notice: Post Hurricane Isaias Damage Reporting, Self Help Dry-Out Procedures and Policing Areas
Public Works Damage Assessment Teams have already conducted an exterior visual inspection of the entire MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River complex this morning. Teams noted any buildings with roof/building envelope damage and have been working tirelessly this afternoon to gain access to only those buildings for interior inspection.
Tenant facilities representatives must inspect their buildings and report any hurricane damage via service request in MAXIMO through their G4/S4 facilities representative, as buildings without visible roof/building envelope damage will not be inspected by damage assessment teams.
Unit G4/S4 facilities representatives should ensure that descriptions in USMCMax lead off with the word 'ISAIAS'. This will enable Public Works to specifically target hurricane damage for follow-on inspection/repair. Note: Please do not report typical facilities issues (i.e., inoperable light switch, leaking faucet, clogged plumbing fixture, etc.) in this manner.
Note to Area Commanders:
When police calling your spaces upon return to normal operations, all debris from trees should be placed along the side of the road in piles. Follow on contractor support will come through and remove the piles at a later date.
Unit Self-Help Dry-Out Procedures for buildings with water intrusion or standing water:
- Squeegee/ wet vac all possible water from the space.
- Remove wet rugs from the space.
- Remove wet carpet. If the underlying tile begins to stick to the carpet, cut around it, let it remain and continue removal.
- Wet ceiling tiles on gridded ceilings shall be removed from the space. Wet/damaged insulation that has fallen should be removed. Hanging insulation can remain. It is mold resistant. Tuck back up in the grid if necessary.
- If air conditioning is operational and functioning do not open the windows. Air conditioning will aid in the dehumidification if the space remains closed to the outside.
- All wet, cloth- covered furniture should be removed from the space. It will mold.

Public Notice: Most MCIEAST installations returning to Health Protection Condition Bravo
CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - In alignment with local, state, federal, and Department of Defense guidelines, Marine Corps Installations East (MCIEAST) is transitioning from Health Protection Condition Charlie (HPCON-C) to Bravo (HPCON-B) across most of its installations with the exception of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, effective immediately. HPCON-B means there are still confirmed cases of COVID-19 present in the areas surrounding MCIEAST installations. MCIEAST installations have been in HPCON-C since March 24 of this year.
During HPCON-B, most services aboard the installation will be available, however MCIEAST military and medical leaders are continuing to implement COVID-19 mitigation measures to prevent any future outbreak through the regular enforcement of face coverings, hand-washing, social-distancing and other site-specific health prevention measures.
Along with the transition to HPCON-B is the resumption of the Trusted Traveler Program which allows for uniformed service members and dependents (over age 16), DoD employees, and retired uniformed service members and spouses to vouch for occupants inside a vehicle when entering a military installation, provided they possess a valid DoD identification card. For more information on the program visit: https://www.lejeune.marines.mil/Visitors/Trusted-Traveler-Program/
