About

HMMWV Egress Assistance Trainer (HEAT) instructs Marines how to egress a vehicle after a rollover and how to wear proper safety restraints. This device is able to roll 360 degrees.  Provides realistic and relevant training environment for Marines to train tactical vehicle egress procedures in various degrees of vehicle rollover.  Marines experience the real effects of a vehicle rollover, practice egress through cab doors and turret openings, receive reinforcement of the importance of wearing a seatbelt and learn the procedures and effort levels required to execute vehicle egress.

Location

The HMMWV Egress Assistance Trainer (HEAT) is located at 100 Sim Center Dr., Building 1046, behind Range Control.

Required Equipment

Equipment: Marines/Sailors must provide their own helmet and body armor. Rifles, knee and elbow pads are provided.

Special Instructions

Special Instructions: A certified HEAT instructor/operator provided by the unit must give the Dry Rollover Egress Training (DRET) class prior to arrival. Units must provide a certified instructor for each device they plan on using. A SNCO or Officer must be present for the duration of the training. Corpsman and safety vehicle must be provided by the using unit.
