U.S. Marines place challenge coins and sign the final beam during the topping out ceremony of the II Marine Expeditionary Force (II MEF) headquarters building on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Nov. 1, 2022. Construction of the new headquarters, located in the Wallace Creek area, began in January 2022 and is expected to be complete in June 2025. The three-story headquarters building will encompass nearly 181,000 square feet and provide administrative, training, and support functions to the II MEF. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
