Contractor Legacy Badges no longer valid at MCB Camp Lejeune-MCAS New River beginning Thursday

Sentries at all Camp Lejeune and New River gates will begin confiscating contractor legacy badges this Thursday, March 24.

When they expired February 23, contractor legacy badges served as 30-day temporary passes to allow contractors sufficient time to register for the base’s new enterprise security program known as RAPIDGate.

After March 23, contractors have only two options: they can either register for RAPIDGate or obtain a temporary pass every four days from the Contractor Vetting Office (Bldg. 812).

Base officials are encouraging any contractors or service providers regularly doing business with the base to enroll in the RAPIDGate program. Those not registering for RAPIDGate can anticipate long wait times and frequent visits to obtain temporary passes.

The RAPIDGate Program supports the Department of Defense's security requirements while offering a streamlined access procedure for vendors, suppliers, contractors, sub-contractors and service providers.

A RAPIDGate card allows long-term credentialing up to three years with annual online recertification, unescorted access and multiple access times.

This voluntary program requires installation approval for new and existing personnel who require routine access to both installations yet are not authorized to receive a Common Access Card.

Registration for the new program is currently ongoing at the Contractor Vetting Office, building 812, which has expanded hours temporarily from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is located before the main entrance of Camp Lejeune Monday through Friday.

RAPIDGate registrants can also go to building 251 on base (the old Camp Lejeune bus station) which is open temporarily to accommodate new customers from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Individuals may register at kiosks located inside each building. They will receive a background check and be notified via email when their badges are ready for pickup if approved. It takes approximately 14-21 days for the badge to be ready for pickup.

Companies and service providers may initiate enrollment by calling 1-877-RAPIDGate (1-877-727-4342) or email questions regarding access control changes to MCB-MCASRAPIDGATE@USMC.mil. Assisted registration at your company's location may be available if you have 50 or more employees to register. Further enrollment information is available at www.rapidgate.com/enroll.
