MCB CAMP LEJEUNE-MCAS NEW RIVER, N.C. --
Vendors, suppliers, contractors and service providers currently doing business aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and/or Marine Corps Air Station New River are urged to register for the RAPIDGate Access Control Program now, prior to February 22, when all current legacy badges will expire. Once that occurs, only those companies and employees who have registered for RAPIDGate will be able to get aboard the base and station without having to get a temporary pass. Temporary passes will be issued for 30 days initially and then in four-day increments thereafter. Those not registering for RAPIDGate can anticipate long wait times and frequent visits to obtain temporary passes.
The RAPIDGate Program supports the Department of Defense's security requirements while offering a streamlined access procedure for vendors, suppliers, contractors, sub-contractors and service providers. A RAPIDGate card allows long-term credentialing up to three years with annual online recertification, unescorted access and multiple access times. This voluntary program requires installation approval for new and existing personnel who require routine access to both installations yet are not authorized to receive a Common Access Card.
Registration for the new program is currently ongoing from 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at building 812, which is located before the main entrance of Camp Lejeune Monday through Friday. Individuals may register at one of four kiosks inside the building. They will receive a background check and be notified via email when their badges are ready for pickup if approved. It takes approximately 14-21 days for the badge to be ready for pickup.
