Bomb threats cleared through on-base personnel

December 17, 2015

At approximately 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. a bomb threat was received at the Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts, respectively, in vicinity of the commissary and Marine Corps Exchange.

The two establishments were evacuated and traffic was temporarily rerouted as the appropriate military personnel and explosive detection dogs immediately swept the area, to include the parking lots and vehicles.

The "all clear" was declared at 10 a.m.

In these situations, the safety of our personnel and family members is the top priority. All threats and suspicions are handled with immediate care and diligence. The concurrent mobilization of explosive detection teams, reporting actions, and investigative procedures ensure we are doing everything within our abilities to foster a safe environment and ensure we may conduct business as normal.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division. As more information is made available, it will be provided.
