MCB Camp Lejeune will conduct Exercise Urgent Response, an annual exercise that provides an opportunity for tenant commands to develop and exercise emergency security procedures. Scheduled to take place between Oct 20 and Oct 28 the exercise provides realistic training opportunities meant to increase the installation’s emergency response efforts, command and control, and security capabilities.

The majority of the installation and local community can expect little to no impact from the exercise, but the following significant events are highlighted for awareness:

• Increased emergency services radio and communication traffic
• On-base exercise announcements via loud speaker
• Enhanced security measures within area commands on Thursday, Oct. 26
• Increased Force Protection measures at MCB Camp Lejeune Sneads Ferry Gate from approximately 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Exercise Urgent Response will not close or suspend any services on MCB Camp Lejeune.

This annual exercise is not connected in any way to the ongoing events in the Middle East.
