COVID-19 Symptoms

People with COVID-19 are currently presenting a wide range of symptoms – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.  These symptoms include:

•    Fever or chills
•    Cough
•    Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
•    Fatigue
•    Muscle or body aches
•    Headache
•    New loss of taste or smell
•    Sore throat
•    Congestion or runny nose
•    Nausea or vomiting
•    Diarrhea

This list does not include all possible symptoms. The CDC will continue to update this list as we learn more about COVID-19. Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.

Acute Respiratory Center

Acute Respiratory Center (ARC) testing site (NH-200, same building as the pediatric, dermatology clinic & Pharmacy drive thru)

•    The ARC is open Mon-Fri 0800-1600 for testing and/or examination with a provider if indicated.
•    Saturday and Sunday are testing only days (close contacts, pre-op swabs, otherwise well or minimally symptomatic people).
•    ARC COVID hotline (910) 450-2956. On site manned from 0800-1600, then calls are forwarded to Tricare National Nurse Advice line 1 800 TRI-CARE(874-2273)
•    Active Duty personnel should go to their designated Active Duty testing site for evaluation and tracking purposes.
•    Wear a mask if coming to the ARC. Mondays are high volume days, so be patient.
•    Several off base sites (Walgreens, CVS, etc.) offer no cost testing. Some may have co-pays. If using an offsite testing facility, make sure to ask if the whole appointment is covered by TRICARE, and not just the cost of the test.
•    People with COVID like symptoms getting tested should self-isolate until test results are given to them.  The ARC will try and call, but results can be found on www.Tricareonline.com , which can be accessed with CAC card or DS login
