Programs and Service Impacts Due to Lapse in Appropriations

While focusing on the installation workforce, “Make Ready” impacts broader MCB Camp Lejeune stakeholders as the base enables warfighting tenant commands to generate effective combat power to compete and win globally. MCB CAMLEJ supports the MEF’s, and all tenant units’, efforts to build warfighting readiness through invested individuals, robust teams, and strong alliances which build synergy across the workforce and key partners to empower the warfighter.

The recent government shutdown has affected a limited number of programs and services on Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River. While the majority of installation services will remain operational, a small number may be affected due to reduced staffing until federal funding is restored.

There are currently no planned changes in operations or hours for Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, pharmacy, commissary or mess halls. Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS), including fitness centers, child development centers, Marine Marts and gas stations will remain fully operational until further notice. DoDEA schools will remain open for normal operations, except for sports (including practices) and extracurricular activities, which will pause during a shutdown.

Some of the programs and services that may be operating on reduced staff or operating hours include: the ID card center, the regional personnel administration center, civilian human resources office, family housing and the Equal Employment Opportunity Office.

Please consult organizational websites for the most up-to-date information regarding closures and changes in regular hours, including:

MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will continue to maintain its ability to project combat power worldwide at the time and place of our nation’s choosing as well as support our servicemembers, families and community.
