The Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) is a joint Department of Defense (DOD), North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NCDENR) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiative to increase participation by local community members in the cleanup process at military installations. The RAB provides a forum through which local communities, installations and regulatory agencies work together in an atmosphere that encourages discussion and exchange of information.
Camp Lejeune established a RAB in 1996. There are currently 19 members from the local community on the board as well as representatives from the base, city, and county government, the State, EPA and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Atlantic.
