NOTE: Per MARADMIN 595/18 and DoD Manual 5200.08 V3, driver’s licenses and identification cards marked "not valid for federal purposes," "federal limits may apply," or any other similar language may not be accepted by DoD for the purpose of unescorted access (i.e. to obtain a Visitor Pass or DBIDS Credential).

  • All visitors will be required to complete the Sponsored Visitor Form (SECNAV 5512/1) - note that you must download the form to your device, then open the PDF to enable all features
  • If you do not submit electronically, you may bring the form to the Camp Lejeune Visitor Center (Bldg. TT-13) for processing.
  • All visitors will be required to provide one form of valid identification. Please review the list of acceptable forms of identification here.
 

Upon arrival at Camp Lejeune, visitors will report to the visitor center (Bldg. TT-13) to obtain a DBIDS credential. They will have their identity validated, be subject to a criminal history check, be photographed and digitally fingerprinted. Visitors who are driving are required to produce a valid driver’s license, state registration and proof of insurance. Wait times may be lengthy for visitors who did not submit the required documentation via the electronic process.

Q: What is the Sponsored Visitor Program?
A: The MCB Camp Lejeune Sponsored Visitor Program enables authorized DoD ID cardholders to submit a Sponsored Visitor Request form to the Provost Marshal Office (PMO). Unescorted sponsored guests are required to obtain a DBIDS credential from the visitor center.

Q: What is sponsorship and who can act as a sponsor?
A: Sponsorship is the act of identifying a visitor and verifying that the visitor is personally or professionally known to the sponsor and has a valid purpose for entering MCB Camp Lejeune. Sponsors are responsible for their visitors.

  • Visitors who do not have a DBIDS credential (e.g. sponsored in person under Trusted Traveler) must be accompanied by their sponsor at all times while on MCB Camp Lejeune.
  • Visitors who are in possession of a valid DBIDS credential are authorized unescorted access.
  • If a visitor violates MCB Camp Lejeune orders or regulations, the individual who sponsored the visitor may lose sponsorship privileges either temporarily or permanently.
  • A sponsor is any person with a DoD ID card, who invites a visitor to come on MCB Camp Lejeune. Sponsors must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Sponsors cannot grant their visitor any base privileges.  Regulations allow sponsors to have visitors on MCB Camp Lejeune; however, they may only engage in authorized activities at the time of the sponsorship.

Q: Who is considered a Visitor under the Sponsored Visitor Program?
A: A visitor is a person who does not possess a valid government-issued Common Access Card, Department of Defense Uniformed Service ID and Privileges Card, or a U.S. Government-issued, DBIDS-authenticated, Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential.

Q: Which gates may sponsored visitors use?
A: Sponsored visitors may access Camp Lejeune through any available gates unless restricted by their sponsor.

Q: What happens if a sponsor does not complete the registration process before their visitor arrives at the installation?
A: Sponsors who do not properly complete the registration process should expect delays obtaining unescorted access for their visitors.
