Camp Lejeune, N.C. -- The MCIEAST Small Business Office is holding a public outreach event on Thursday, March 27 to educate businesses on how to become eligible and compete for Department of Defense contracts. The event will be held on MCB Camp Lejeune at the Tun Alley Event Center in Bldg. 84 at the Hadnot Point Plaza from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Personnel attending will also learn about the North Carolina-based support organizations available to assist their business, how to do business with the various contracting organizations on MCB Camp Lejeune and provide businesses general information on upcoming opportunities.
“Our objective for the event is to help participants understand the fundamentals of various procurement processes and what it takes to be eligible and competitive, as well as provide some concrete ideas for leveraging opportunities,” said Chris Rabassi, Small Business Coordinator. “Hopefully, businesses will leave empowered with a better understanding of doing business with the government.”
"I look forward to facilitating a constructive dialogue because those goods and services provided by small businesses directly support our Marines and Sailors who are forward deployed or training to project combat power at a moment's notice,” said BGen. Ralph J. Rizzo, Jr., commanding general, Marine Corps Installations East – Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. “By partnering with small businesses, we are able to ensure that our warfighters have the equipment, supplies, and expertise they need to accomplish their mission, no matter where they are deployed around the world."
The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Attendees are advised to register early in advance and those without approved base access authorization should submit the required Base Access Request documents by Feb. 25. Links are provided below.
