CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River remain under Winter Storm Condition I, as snow and ice are still impacting our area. Secondary roads remain icy and despite continued plowing and salting, below freezing temperatures have delayed improvement. Black ice continues to present a threat during evening and early morning hours. All personnel wanting to access MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River should continue to delay travel, unless necessary.
Both installations will remain open for essential operations and personnel, with limited retail operations resuming tomorrow, Jan. 24. Closures of most facilities will remain in effect.
Several Marine Marts and Marine Corps Exchanges on both installations will open tomorrow. Child development centers and fitness centers will remain closed. Visit the MCCS Lejeune-New River website for details and hours of operation.
The Commissary on MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will open tomorrow, Jan. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. as well.
Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune will continue to operate with essential personnel only on Friday, Jan. 24 and outpatient services remain closed.
The Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River Visitor Centers and Contractor Vetting Offices will remain closed. The Triangle Outpost Gate and Piney Green Gate on MCB Camp Lejeune and the Douglass Gate on MCAS New River will remain closed as well. The Sneads Ferry Bridge is subject to short-notice closure by the NC Department of Transportation, due to hazardous conditions, which will affect Sneads Ferry Gate operations. The Onslow Beach Bridge will be subject to closure due to hazardous conditions as well.
