The installation continues to monitor potential winter weather this weekend. Although forecasts have improved there remains the potential for hazardous road conditions with freezing rain and icing early Saturday morning and again during Saturday evening and into the early Sunday morning.  Motorists should be especially cautious at gates, bridges and overpasses.

The base community is advised to prepare now by ensuring that they have sufficient stocks of food, essential household supplies and medicines before the onset of winter weather conditions.

Be advised that there may be adjustments to non-essential services.  Expect late openings and early closures of some facilities including the Marine Corps Exchange, Commissary, Marine Marts, fitness centers, movie theaters, bowling centers, SMP recreation centers, religious services and fast-food restaurants.  These services may adjust operating hours to protect the workforce.  Patrons should call ahead to confirm service availability before travel.

MCCS facilities will close no later than 8 p.m., Saturday, January 24. Normal operations will resume no earlier than 8 a.m., Sunday, January 25. Please monitor official MCCS Lejeune–New River channels for the latest information.

Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune plans to operate normally over the weekend and is open for emergencies and trauma care.

Currently, MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River expect to operate normally on Monday, Jan. 26.  The circumstances will be reviewed Sunday afternoon before a final decision is made.  Personnel should check official websites and social media pages Sunday evening for updates.

Updated: Jan. 21, 2026, 3:43 p.m.

The installation is monitoring the potential for winter weather beginning this weekend through Monday, Jan. 26. While it is too early to determine impacts on services or reporting procedures, we anticipate some disruptions to normal operations. The National Weather Service Eastern North Carolina is forecasting a high probability of inclement winter weather affecting the MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River area.

Installation personnel are advised to prepare for a winter weather event that will likely restrict travel, delay openings or force closures of non-essential installation services including the Marine Corps Exchange, Marine Marts, Commissary, child development centers, recreation facilities, religious services, pharmacies, and fast-food restaurants.

Please ensure you have a sufficient supply of food, water, essential household supplies and medications prior to the forecasted onset of winter weather. Both installations will provide updates as the forecast solidifies and decisions regarding non-essential services on MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River are made.

Personnel should sign up for emergency notification alerts via AtHoc today. Notifications can be disseminated via phone call, text message, email and desktop.
