Winter Weather Impacts to MCB Camp Lejeune & MCAS New River

MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will resume normal operations on Friday, Feb. 21. If you have questions regarding your reporting requirements, please contact your chain of command or work supervisor for guidance.
Limited retail operations began today at noon, Feb. 20, at the Marine Corps Exchange and most Marine Marts except for those at Geiger, Verona Loop, and Onslow Beach. Third party franchises may open on a limited basis. Please call before arriving.
The following services remain closed today but will resume normal operations Friday, Feb. 21:
- Child Development Centers
- Commissaries
- Fitness Centers
- DODEA Schools
- Visitor Centers and Contractor Vetting Offices
- Triangle Outpost Gate, Piney Green Gate and Douglass Gate
- NMCCL will resume normal operating hours. Pharmacy Refill Drive Thru at NH-200 and kiosks at the Marine Corps Exchange on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will resume normal hours tomorrow, Feb 21.
* Please expect increased traffic due to delayed deliveries at Piney Green Gate and Curtis Gate.

With tomorrow’s weather forecast calling for continued sleet and icy road conditions, MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River will close all non-essential services Thursday, Feb. 20. Essential personnel only should report to work. Please consult with your supervisor to determine your work status.
The following services will remain closed Thursday:
- Child Development Centers, fitness centers, third party vendors, Marine Marts, the Marine Corps Exchange*
- MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River Visitor Centers
- Contractor Vetting Offices
- On-base schools
- Commissary*
*Limited retail/commissary operations may resume at 2 p.m. tomorrow, weather permitting, please monitor the MCCS and the base website for updates
The following reduced service will remain in effect Thursday:
- Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune will operate with essential personnel only on Thursday, Feb. 20. NMCCL outpatient clinics, pharmacies, laboratory, and administrative offices will be closed. Inpatient and emergency services will be available for patients. Patients with appointments or scheduled surgeries will be contacted for rescheduling. While every attempt will be made to reach patients today, if you do not receive word, the NMCCL Appointment Call Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20 for rescheduling. Please call 910-450-4357, Option #1.
The following gates will remain closed Thursday
- Piney Green Gate
- Triangle Outpost Gate
- Douglass Gate
The following bridges will remain open Thursday:
- The Sneads Ferry Bridge is subject to short-notice closure by the NC Department of Transportation, due to hazardous conditions, which will affect Sneads Ferry Gate operations.
- Onslow Beach Bridge
All mess halls will continue normal operations. Essential personnel, to include civilians, are authorized dine at these facilities during this period. Standard rates apply.

PLEASE NOTE: Power outages may occur due to ice and fallen tree limbs. MCB Camp Lejeune is aware of a current power outage affecting a large portion of the installation. Duke Energy is working to repair lines and the outage is expected to be repaired later this evening. In case of additional power outages in your work area or on-base home, please contact Public Works at 451-3001.

UPDATE: Feb. 19, 2025 at 11 a.m.
MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River are under a winter storm warning with impacts to our area beginning this afternoon. Forecast confidence is high that our area will see significant impacts into early Thursday with a combination of accumulating snow, sleet, and freezing rain expected.
Non-essential personnel, both service members and civilians, will be released today at 1200. A return-to-work call will be made this evening and passed via all-hands and AtHoc as well as posted to our installation websites and social media pages. At this time, personnel can expect to return no earlier than 12 p.m. tomorrow. In the interest of safety, supervisors should address any personnel travel concerns on a case-by-case basis when making later return-to-work decisions.
MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River military and civilian personnel are advised of the following impacts:
- Child Development Centers will close at 12 p.m. today, Feb. 19. Please monitor the MCCS website for openings tomorrow.
- Mess Halls will remain open and essential personnel, to include civilians, are authorized to use the mess hall during this weather event. Standard meal rates will apply.
- The Marine Corps Exchange, Marine Marts and Fitness Centers will close at noon today and re-open on Thursday, Feb. 20 no earlier than 12 p.m. Please check with the MCCS website for any updates.
- The Commissary will close at 4 p.m. today, Feb. 19 and re-open on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m.
- TOP Gate will be closed for afternoon hours today, Feb. 19 and re-open at 12 p.m. through 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
- Piney Green Gate will close at 12 p.m. today, Feb. 19 and re-open at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
- Douglass Gate will close at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 19 and re-open at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.
- DoDEA Schools will be released at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 19 and closed on Thursday, Feb. 20.
