Tellez, outgoing sergeant major of Marine Corps Installations East (MCIEAST)-Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune, receives the Legion of Merit award for his selfless years of service and dedication to the Marine Corps, during a relief and appointment ceremony at the Marston Pavilion on MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Nov. 4, 2022. The ceremony represents the transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from the outgoing sergeant major, Sgt. Maj. Tellez, to the incoming sergeant major, Sgt. Maj. Ryan A. Gnecco.
