Who We Are

As Sexual Assault Response Coordinators, or “SARCs,” for Camp Lejeune, we are available to assist you with matters regarding sexual assault. You may speak with us with the assurance of confidentiality.

In order to understand your reporting options, you can speak with a SARC, your Uniformed Victim Advocate, or a civilian victim advocate at the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (750-5852), or with a medical service provider.

Restricted Reporting

Victims can receive medical treatment, advocacy, and counseling while maintaining confidentiality and protecting their identity. A restricted report to a UVA will not trigger a formal report to PMO or the chain of command. Restricted reporting protects a victim’s privacy in almost all cases.

Unrestricted Reporting

An unrestricted report to a UVA allows a victim to receive medical treatment, advocacy, and counseling. An unrestricted report informs the victim’s chain of command and ensures a thorough investigation of the assault in order to hold offenders accountable for their criminal conduct.

Uniformed Victim Advocates

The purpose of a sexual assault Uniformed Victim Advocate is to provide information, guidance (referrals), and support to Marines and sailors who have been sexually assaulted.

Sexual assault is defined as intentional sexual contact, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim cannot consent.

Sexual assault includes rape, nonconsensual sodomy (oral or anal sex), indecent assault (unwanted inappropriate contact or fondling), or attempts to commit these acts.

24-HOUR SUPPORT LINE: 910-750-5852

Victims of Sexual Assault are entitled to 24/7 telephonic and website access and availability. Telephonic access lines are manned with victim advocates who are trained to appropriately respond.

This 24/7 Support Line does not replace the need or role of a Uniformed Victim Advocate. They are also available 24/7.

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program is available from 0730-1630 and can be reached at 910-451-5973.
