2nd Network Battalion Activates at MCB Camp Lejeune

Camp Lejeune, N.C. – The second of three Marine Corps network battalions was activated today on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Lt. Col. Karl W. Schlegel assumed command of 2nd Network Battalion during an activation and assumption of command ceremony at the Paradise Point Officers Club.2nd Network Battalion is a subordinate unit under Marine Corps

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE: Power restoration likely to begin at 5 p.m.

As power restoration efforts continue, repairs to the damaged equipment have just been completed, and crews estimate that power will begin to be restored at approximately 5 p.m. Some areas will be restored later than others as the substation is brought back online.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE: Restoration efforts continue, outage may persist until late afternoon

The main substation that feeds power from Duke Energy to Paradise Point, Berkeley Manor, Midway Park, Heroes Manor, Watkins Grove, Watkins Village, Hospital Point and the 100-area buildings between “A” and Cross Streets continues to be down at this time. After the power went out at approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, Duke ran a series of tests on the transformer in the main substation to determine the cause of the outage and at 10 p.m., determined a faulty piece of equipment needed to be replaced. That part is being shipped from Raleigh today, and Duke estimates power will likely be restored by 4 p.m. today.

POWER OUTAGE UPDATE: Housing areas and portion of Mainside experience loss of power

The main substation that feeds power from Duke Energy to Paradise Point, Berkeley Manor, Heroes Manor, Watkins Grove, Watkins Village, Hospital Point, Midway Park and the 100-area buildings between “A” and Cross Streets has experienced an outage at this time. While tests are being conducted to determine a possible fix overnight, officials from Duke are predicting power will not likely be restored until 4 p.m. tomorrow. Your patience is appreciated.

MCIEAST Installation Mask Policy Update

In support of updated Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines recently released, subject to applicable labor relations obligations, fully vaccinated DoD personnel (who are at least two weeks beyond their final dose) are no longer required to wear masks indoors or outdoors at MCIEAST facilities. Unvaccinated personnel are required to follow applicable DoD mask guidance, including continuing to wear masks indoors.
