Important Announcements

Welcome to 20 July 2026! We are now into the final three months of Fiscal Year 2026!

For the past eight-and-a-half months I have stressed the following so, please, today take the time to verify: your System for Award Management (www.sam.gov) record, Small Business Administration certification, Cyber Security Maturity Model Certification and all other certifications for your business are current.  You do not want to be the apparent awardee for a contract and then not receive an award due to an expired certification.  The time to update is now!

Some key points on giving your business the best opportunity for success in the final three months:

1.  Ensure you are current in all the eligibility certifications I mentioned above.

2.  Check all government points of entry daily (www.sam.gov, GSAEBuy and NASA SEWP). We all need a vacation sometime, but ensure you have something in place to keep checking because you will miss opportunities if you do not.

3.  Follow up.  Get confirmation from the contracting office when you submit a proposal.  Don't just rely on a "read receipt"; get actual confirmation from the contracting office.

Foster networking and information sharing to support small businesses.

Ensure small businesses socio-economic goals are met.

Good morning businesses.  Here we go, forty-two working days left until the end of Fiscal Year 2026!

If you renewed your System for Award Management registration between March 2026 and 22 July 2026 please check your SAM registration because:

What happened: In some cases, a "Yes" value may be missing in the Small Business column for NAICS codes for which you may have asserted and qualified as a small business. This affects the information in Representations 52.219-1 and in the Representations and Certifications section of your registration.

What you need to do: Please review your NAICS code size table in SAM.gov.

  • If your NAICS code size table is correct, no further action is needed.
  • If your NAICS code size table is inaccurate, you will need to renew your registration to correct the information.

Why this matters: Contracting officers, agency small business offices, and other awarding officials use the NAICS code size table to determine whether an entity qualifies as a small business for a specific procurement. Ensuring your SAM.gov information is accurate is important if you are pursuing small business opportunities and contracts. For more detail on how size standards are calculated, you can reference the SBA table of small business size standards.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Federal Service Desk at FSD.gov.
