MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Sgt. Jonathan Owen, a machine gunner with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, receives his award as the honor graduate and “Gung Ho” recipient during Sergeant’s Course Class 5-16 graduation at the base theatre on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Fe.4. According to Master Sgt. Charity Sullivan, the sergeant’s course staff noncommissioned officer in charge, Owens finished with a grade point average in the top ten percent of the class, a first class physical fitness test and led his class by displaying a high level of dedication. The sergeants who attended the class received 24 hours of administration and communication classes, 92 hours of leadership classes and 44 hours of war fighting classes during the five-week course.
