Soldiers from the Royal Bermuda Regiment ready themselves for scenario based exercises during the Junior Noncommissioned Officer Cadre on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., May 4, 2018. The JNCO Cadre is a promotions course for promotion from Private Bandsman Drummer to Lance Corporal and is open to all soldiers who have completed one year of service and have the recommendation of their company commander. Dr. Jim Fruthaler, former Navy lieutenant junior grade reminisces with service members about his time in the military as a pediatrician at the Hadnot Point Medical Clinic located on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, May 1. Dr. Fruthaler, who received orders to MCB Camp Lejeune in 1951, helped establish the first pediatric clinic on base at historic Building 15. “It is very meaningful for us to have him here today,” said Cmdr. Daniel D’Aurora, director of branch clinics. “Listening to what he had to go through to stand up this clinic is a very unique experience.” (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. By October 2020, it will be a requirement to have a REAL ID to access all federal facilities and airports.
