Base to cancel non-essential services due to weather, schools closed Thursday

Due to forecasted treacherous road conditions from the recent winter storm, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune non-essential civilian and military personnel will not be required to report to work Thursday, Jan 30.

Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools will also be closed Thursday.

The Naval Hospital’s emergency services continue to remain open. For additional information on outpatient services or elective surgeries, please visit www.facebook.com/nhclejeune. To reschedule appointments, please call 910-450-4357.

The commissary and Main Exchange will continue to be closed Thursday. A select number of Marine Marts and the Wallace Creek Fitness Center will attempt to open if road conditions improve. Please visit www.facebook.com/mccscamplejeune for the latest information regarding any possible openings for MCCS activities.

All Camp Lejeune gates will remain open with the exception of the Piney Green entrance which will be closed Thursday. Additionally, the bridge adjacent to the Sneads Ferry gate over the New River on NC-172 is closed until road conditions improve.

Onslow Beach will be closed Thursday.

Essential personnel and shift workers should contact their chain of command or work supervisor for reporting instructions.

Military and civilian personnel of tenant commands who have questions regarding specific reporting circumstances should contact their chain of command or work supervisor for instruction.
