Pfc. The Naval Color Guard presents the colors in front of the newest Sailors to be promoted to Chief Petty Officer at the base theater on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Sept. 16. The ceremony happened at the end of a six weeks transition period for Petty Officers 1st Class in to Chief Petty Officers where they are given first-hand knowledge on what it means to be a Chief in the Navy. Hundreds of Marines and 57 charitable organizations involved with Wounded Warrior Battalion - East came together for the 2nd Annual Veteran and Charitable Organizations Symposium at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Sept. 9. Marines with WWBn - East had a chance to give back and show support to the charities who have supported them. Brig. Gen. Thomas D. Weidley, Marine Corps Installations East – MCB Camp Lejeune commanding general, Lt. Col. Chris Hrudka, battalion commander of WWBn - East and various leaders within the MCI East community spoke to the attendees about the importance of the relationship between active duty service members, veterans and the communities in which they serve.
