U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Leonardo Valadezayala, an inventory management specialist with 2nd Combat Readiness Regiment, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, and a native of Escondido, California, poses for a portrait on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Dec. 23, 2024. Valadezayala was selected as Warrior of the Week for creating a safer and more efficient work environment. According to his leaders, he executes his duties in a manner that is equivalent to a Marine of senior grade by working diligently to complete all tasks, including gear accountability and disposal. Additionally, Valadezayala recently earned Marine of the Quarter for his continuous ability to set a new bar for his peers to emulate. When asked how he felt being the Warrior of the Week, Valadezayala replied, “I feel so proud of myself because I'm not only representing my family and where I am coming from, I am representing my Marine Corps family.” Each week, 2nd MLG recognizes one outstanding Marine or Sailor that goes above and beyond in their duties and embodies the qualities of an outstanding service member.
