Volunteers, including service members from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, constructed an oyster reef along a segment of the North Carolina Shore on Nov. 17 with the N. C. Coastal Federation. The reef will act as a living shoreline, protecting the coast from erosion. (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc. Jackeline M. Perez Rivera)
