MCB Camp Lejeune, MCAS New River to transition to Alert! mass notification system

24 Apr 2026 | MCIEAST Communication Strategy & Operations Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River will transition to a new mass notification system, Alert!, effective May 1, 2026, to enhance the installations’ ability to communicate critical information during emergencies.

Alert! will replace the AtHoc mass notification system for all U.S. Marine Corps installations, including MCB Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River, as part of the Marine Corps’ commitment to the safety and security of its service members, civilians and families.

Alert! is designed to rapidly deliver emergency information during all-hazards events such as severe weather, active threats, base lockdowns or other emergencies. Notifications will be sent through multiple channels, including:

  • Desktop pop-up notifications

  • Telephone calls (work, home, and mobile)

  • SMS text messages

  • Email (work and personal)

This capability supports Department of Defense Instruction 6055.17 requirements to notify the primary population during emergencies and enhances the installation’s ability to communicate quickly and effectively when it matters most.

Beginning April 2026, base personnel will see a pop-up window on their government computers prompting them to register. Users should follow the on-screen instructions to create their accounts, link their account to their installation and input contact details. After-hours contact information is required, and personnel are also encouraged to input family member information. Previous AtHoc user information has been migrated to the Alert! system, but personnel should verify and update their information. The AtHoc system will be deactivated on May 1 and will no longer be used for mass notifications.

Ensuring your information is accurate and up to date is critical to your safety and the safety of your family. Personnel are encouraged to complete registration as soon as possible.
