Colonel Amy R. Ebitz
Colonel Ebitz is a native of Elmer, New Jersey. After completing her undergraduate education at Cameron University, Lawton, OK with a major in criminal justice, she attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps on 18 August 1995.  Following The Basic School she was assigned at MCB Quantico, VA Security Battalion in June 1996.  During this tour Colonel Ebitz served in various billets from Platoon Commander to Military Police Services, S-3, and Legal Officer. 
In July 1999, Colonel Ebitz was transferred to School of Infantry, East (SOI-E), Marine Combat Training Battalion, Camp Geiger, NC where she served as the Commanding Officer of Fox Company.  Colonel Ebitz then attended Amphibious Warfare School from August 2001 thru May 2002.  Ordered to Okinawa, Japan in June 2002, Colonel Ebitz served as the Anti-Terrorism Officer of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF).  After her tour, Colonel Ebitz was assigned to II MEF, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (MLG), 2d Military Police (MP) Battalion, Camp Lejeune to serve as Commanding Officer, Bravo Company.  In October 2004, Colonel Ebitz assumed duties as Executive Officer of 2d MP Battalion.
In June 2006, Colonel Ebitz assumed duties as the Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection Officer and Provost Marshal for II MEF, G-3 where she served until June 2008.  Colonel Ebitz was then ordered to Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA to further her military education as a student.  Following her schooling in June 2009 Colonel Ebitz reported to Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico to serve as Security Battalion Executive Officer and Provost Marshal.  From July 2011 until May 2012, she served as Provost Marshal, MCB Hawaii. 
Colonel Ebitz next commanded 3d Law Enforcement Battalion, III MEF in Okinawa, Japan from May of 2012 to August of 2014. After command, Colonel Ebitz assumed duties as the III MEF Inspector General.  In June of 2015, Colonel Ebitz was order to Marine Corps War (MCWAR) College as a Top Level School student from August 2015 until June 2016.  Colonel Ebitz was then assigned as the Anti-Terrorism / Force Protection Branch Head, Protection Division, J3 (J33) on the Chairman’s Joint Staff.  In July of 2018, Colonel Ebitz was assigned as a Senior Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Fellow at the Brookings Institution, Washington D.C. from August 2018 until June 2019.
Colonel Ebitz’ personal decorations and citations include: Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star, Combat Action Ribbon,  National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, Iraqi Campaign Medal with two bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with a silver star.
Colonel Ebitz educational experience includes:  Marine Corps War College (MSS), The Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (Class 240); Marine Corps Command and Staff College, (MMS); Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School; and USA MP Officer Basic.
Colonel Ebitz enjoys gardening and the study of history.
