Members of Navy Marine Corps Relief Society break frosting in celebration of NMCRS’s 109th birthday aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune Jan. 23. Founded in 1904, NMCRS staff originally consisted of only 19 volunteers. The first NMCRS office was started with a portion of the $9,000 proceeds collected from a football game between Army and Navy.
