During the Trees for Troops give-a-way sponsored by the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx, approximately 800 live Christmas trees were given out to service members and their families at Onslow Beach, Dec. 10. Marines with the Single Marine Program volunteered their time to help load the free trees into family's vehicles in keeping with the spirit of Christmas. Even in the rain, Cpl. Matthew D. Monroe, a schools chief with headquarters company, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, said he was having a blast and was grateful to be helping out during the event.
