You are in receipt of orders – NOW WHAT DO I DO???  PRIOR PLANNING IS A MUST!!!

STEP 1.
Decide whether you want to do a government move or a Personally Procured Move(formerly DITY move) click on appropriate link to learn more about each move. You can also do a combination of both moves which is also known as a PARTIAL MOVE.

STEP 2.
Once you’ve decided which move will be the best for you; login to move.mil and click on First Time User: Then click on Obtain “User ID and Password” – click on DOD Service Member and Civilian Registration and complete the DOD customer registration form.  Please use only your personal e-mail account when registering.  When submitted you will receive a User ID/Password within 48 hours.  While on the move.mil site you can also peruse additional information by clicking on “Before You Move, Claims, Customer Satisfaction Survey and FAQ” (in the red bar).

STEP 3.
After receiving your username and password; log onto move.mil to start the process of the self-counseling by clicking on the “Login to DPS” link on the left side of the page.  You will be directed to input your username and password on the ETA webpage, and click the “Log In” button at the bottom.  The Defense Personal Property System (DPS) link will be on the left side.  Once you click on that link, you will be directed to the Self-Counseling page for step by step instructions on submitting the application.  When processing the self-counseling, you are setting up an application for your move.  Once the application is set up, YOU MUST TURN THE PAPERWORK IN TO OUR DMO OFFICE; OTHERWISE YOUR SHIPMENT WILL NOT BE SCHEDULED.

MEMBER MUST TURN PAPERWORK INTO THE DMO FOR SHIPMENT TO BE BOOKED 
During normal periods of the year; documents must be turned in within 15 WORKING DAYS from your requested pick up date. However during the summer peak season (May, June, July, August, September) documents will need to be turned in within 3 weeks from your requested pick up date.
   

 Documentation You Will Need
    For Government Move:
     • DD 1299 / DD 1797 (these forms are found on the submit page of the application in DPS)
     • 1 copy of Orders with all endorsements – contact IPAC to get orders (if needed).
          Marine Corps
          * PCSing: Web Orders
          * EAS/Ret: NAVMC 11060
           Navy
          * PCS/EAS/RET: BUPERS orders
     • 1 copy of ALL non-POV registrations (i.e., boats and motorcycles).
     • Firearm inventory to include make, model, and serial number (if applicable)

    For Personally Procured Move (PPM) (including Partial)
    • 1 copy of Orders with copies all endorsements – contact IPAC to get orders (if needed).
          Marine Corps
         * PCSing: Web Orders
          * EAS/Ret: NAVMC 11060
           Navy
         * PCS/EAS/RET: BUPERS orders
     • LES (most current one)
     • 1 copy of ALL POV registrations (including boats, trailer, motorcycles).

If performing a PPM (DITY) Move, you will be scheduled to attend a follow-on brief. This brief will give you all the information on how to properly conduct a PPM move and provide you the documents you will need to get reimburse.


Attending classes

  • Classes are mandatory, if this is your first or last move.
  • The counseling classes start at 0800 Monday - Friday.
  • We offer computer assistance classes Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1000.
  • The assistance class is to help you set up the self-counseling application in the system.  However, the self-counseling can be done from any computer. Just keep in mind that in order for your move to be scheduled, you MUST come and bring your paperwork to our DMO office.
  • Retirees and EAS members:  Your class/brief will start at 0800.
  • PCS members:  Your computer assistance class goes from 0800-1030.

 Completing your PPM (DITY move)
 PPM CLAIMS ARE ACCEPTED (MONDAY-FRIDAY FROM 0800–0930)

You can also submit it directly to Albany, GA by emailing it to Logcom.tvcbclaims@usmc.mil

When submitting a PPM CLAIM be sure you have the following documents.
     1. DIRECT DEPOSIT FORM (IF CHANGING FINANCIAL INSTITUTION)
     2. DD FORM 2278
     3. PRIVATELY OWNED VEHICLE/TRAILER (POV/POT) REGISTRATION (IF THIS WAS USED TO MOVE HHG)
     4. RENTAL AGREEMENT/ CONTRACT (IF RENTAL EQUIPMENT WAS USED TO MOVE HHG)
     5. DD FORM 1351-2
     6. VOUCHER FOR ADVANCE PAYMENT (IF ADVANCE WAS REQUESTED)
     7. WEIGHT TICKETS, EMPTY AND FULL (CERTIFIED AND LEGIBLE)
     8. PESONALLY PROCURED MOVE (PPM) CHECKLIST AND CERTIFICATION OF EXPENSES
     9. ORDERS, (WEB ORDERS FOR A PCS MOVE, 11060 FOR RETIREMENT OR SEPARATIONS)
     10. RECEIPTS (MOVE EXPENSES SUCH AS FUEL, TOLLS, WEIGHT TICKETS, PACKING SUPPLIES, ETC.)
     11. POWER OF ATTORNEY (POA) (IF SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE MEMBER WILL INQUIRING ABOUT PPM)

The documents MUST be provided in the above sequence. This sequence ensures the claim is easier to process by TVCB, and speeds up the certification process significantly.
