Arnold Fisher, the honorary chairman for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, cuts the ribbon marking the official opening of the Intrepid Spirit Concussion Recovery Center aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Oct. 2. The center, named Intrepid Spirit, is the primary clinic to diagnose and treat Marines and sailors with Traumatic Brain Injury in the Camp Lejeune area. The Intrepid Spirit team has treated more than 150 patients since its doors opened in August and anticipates treating more than 1,000 active-duty Marines and sailors within the year using a 16-week interdisciplinary approach that includes a combination of traditional and adjunct therapies and incorporates the service member’s family throughout the recovery process.
