The following information is located in MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJO 2305.5A, Section 12 (Maintenance and Preservation of Telephone Equipment).

a. The Base Telephone System is maintained and operated by the Telecommunications Division, G-6, MCIEAST.  No person, other than an authorized member of this Division, will service, install, move, remove, or interfere with any item or facility of the Base Telephone System.

b. Detection of illegally installed, relocated or tampered-with telephone instruments or equipment will result in immediate termination of service.  Requirement for restoration of service will be by TSR, to the Telecommunications Division Director / Deputy Director (via appropriate chain of command), explaining the circumstances and action taken.

Cord over 5 meters on top of the floor.    Exposed cords on flooring are a trip and fire hazard. The cord may be damaged from furniture, walking on it, or becoming tangled causing a malfunction of equipment or fire.    If there is a jack within 5 meters, submit a TSR requesting to relocate that number to a new jack. If a jack is not within 5 meters, request installation of an additional jack. Tel-electric poles may be installed through Base Maintenance. 
         
Cord over 5 meters under floor mat.   Cords under flooring may be damaged from walking on it or by furniture causing a malfunction or a fire.    If there is a jack within 5 meters, submit a TSR requesting to relocate that number to a new jack. If a jack is not within 5 meters, request installation of an additional jack. Tel-electric poles may be installed through Base Maintenance. 
         
Cord over 5 meters hanging from ceiling.    The cord may be damaged from being pulled or crimped by ceiling tile causing a malfunction of equipment or fire. Interference may be caused on the line if located too close to power sources.    If there is a jack within 5 meters, submit a TSR requesting to relocate that number to a new jack. If a jack is not within 5 meters, request installation of an additional jack. Tel-electric poles may be installed through Base Maintenance. 
         
Cord over 5 meters leading from jack location in one room to another room through the ceiling.    The cord may be damaged from being pulled or crimped by ceiling tile causing a malfunction of equipment or fire. Interference may be caused on the line if located too close to power sources.    If there is a jack within 5 meters, submit a TSR requesting to relocate that number to a new jack. If a jack is not within 5 meters, request installation of an additional jack. Tel-electric poles may be installed through Base Maintenance. 
         
Splitter    This connector allows a number to be located at separate locations off a single line. Too much equipment on one line may damage that circuit.    Remove the Splitter, submit a TSR to have more numbers and jacks installed. 
         
Disconnected Drops    Drops were disconnected by the user and moved to another location.    Return equipment to original location. Submit a TSR to repair damaged drops, install new drops, and relocate the phone to the new drop.
